Description

  • Dry style
  • Spicy pear & guava
  • Ginger & cinnamon
  • Flinty acidity

"Complex, pure, ripe and enticing bouquet with aromas of spicy pear, apple and quince. Lush satin texture touches the palate with core fruit flavours of white nectarine and citrus, pear and apple then a touch of quince. Acidity and warming alcohol add breadth and weight as well as contrast to the fruit. Best drinking from 2023 through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Oct 2022

"Bright, pale yellow with a slightly green hue. The nose is full and expressive, and the aromas of Nashi pear are entwined with white floral, cinnamon and ginger. Medium-bodied, dry-ish to taste, aromas of Nashi pear and yellow apple enliven by ginger, cinnamon and rich white floral. The fruit is generous and expressive, supported by vibrant acidity, and a touch of sweetness provides balance. The oily mouthfeel with chalky minerals and spicy finish added interest. This is an expressive Pinot Gris with voluminous aromas of pear, floral and spice on a smooth, oily mouthfeel" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Oct 2022

Nice bright yellow tones with green reflects. Ripe nectarine and tropical fruit flavours of pineapple and guava are revealed on the nose followed with a hint of spices and ginger. The mouth is full bodied and long, balanced with a flinty acidity. A dry style Pinot Gris.

La Niña has placed her thumb print over the Waitaki for the second year running. Resulting in a cooler and more humid summer across the Waitaki. This producing consistent and uniformed grape yields with more intense fruit flavours. We were graced with 820 growing degree days and not one of them was below 70% humidity. Our har vest dates were traditional for the last week of April and because of this we did not have too many sleepless nights frost fighting.
