Description

  • Dry style
  • Rockmelon
  • Supple texture
  • Juicy acidity

"Beautifully composed and styled showing Asian pear, rockmelon, rich floral and subtle spice aromas on the nose. The palate displays succulent fruit intensity together with supple texture and juicy acidity, making it flavoursome and deliciously appealing. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2022

"Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is voluminous, fragrant and mealy; aromas of pear and apple interweave white blossom and spice. Medium-bodied, aromas of pear and apple intertwine stonefruit, abundant white floral and delicate spice. The fruit shows concentrations with excellent acid freshness and lends a lengthy, refreshing finish. Talcum-textured phenolics contribute elegance and mouthfeel, carrying floral fragrance. This elegant Pinot Gris possesses lush fruit, floral details, a bright acid line and a fine texture mouthfeel. Match with white fish and pork over the next 3-4 years" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, Jul 2022

"Delightful, generous and fruit-laden bouquet showcasing scents of spicy white pear and baked apple, there’s a fine lees quality with a whisper of ginger then mineral. Taut, salivating and saline crisp on the palate with a core of fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet. Acidity highlights the youthful nature of the fruit with a citrus peel note before the white fleshed flavours of pear and apple return. Balanced and well made with a lengthy dry finish. Excellent drinking from 2022 through 2028" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jul 2022

Simply the perfect, once in a lifetime, vintage! We couldn’t have wished for a better summer and autumn weather with warm and dry conditions throughout. The growing season was not hot, so allowing us to harvest grapes with good natural acidity and freshness, moderate alcohol and good flavour. All varieties have produced wines that show elegance and balance.

This is a single vineyard wine from our ‘Sea’ vineyard in Te Awanga where cooling see breezes help moderate temperatures which retains the fresh acidity in the grapes. 90% Pinot Gris, 10% Viognier, hand-picked, hand-sorted in vineyard and winery. Gently pressed, tank fermented and matured. 4 months on fine lees with occasional stirring to create mid palate texture.
