A lifted nose of ripe cherry and boysenberry mingled with a touch of spicy oak and coffee. Bright and lively with flavours of red forest fruits, slight nutmeg and juicy plum. This wine has well integrated oak and balanced acidity. The velvety tannins and fine persistence flavours provide good focus and length.
These Pinot Noir grapes were harvested from several vineyard sites in Marlborough. Each vineyard was closely monitored and tasted to determine when the flavours were at their optimum. Once aged in a mixture of oak and stainless steel, the wine underwent 100 per cent malolactic fermentation before being blended and gently prepared for bottling.
Well matched with duck breasts with red fruit reductant.
This wine can be enjoyed young or with careful cellaring will mature into a more complex wine that can be enjoyed for the next five years.
