Description
'This brilliantly priced pinot shows fragrant aromas of dark cherry, mixed spice, toasted nuts and subtle earthy mushroom on the nose. The palate is ripe and rounded, and offers attractive fruit flavours and silky texture, elegantly framed by fine tannins. Bright floral aromas of ripe dark fruits, blackcurrants and roasted spices, interlaced with layers of chocolate. A concentrated wine with flavours of ripe cherries and undertones of fresh ground coffee and toasted oak. The silky tannin structure is fine with beautiful balance and a clean lingering finish. This Pinot Noir can be enjoyed young or with careful cellaring, up to five years from vintage date, it will mature into a more complex wine.
Fruit for this wine was sourced from low cropping vineyard sites throughout Marlborough. The wine was hand plunged frequently throughout ferment then gently pressed off skins. When dry each batch was pressed to tank, settled and then racked off gross lees to either stainless steel tanks or a mixture of new and older seasoned French oak. 100 per cent malolactic fermentation was carried out before being blended and gently prepared for bottling.
