Lush, rounded palate with dark fruit compote flavours, along with some savoury, smoky bacon notes. Charming, with good intensity and tannin structure. Some gentle supporting oak and dark chocolate/mocha flavours add interest. A vibrant and welcoming nose with raspberry, dark red fruits and cranberry scents. A splash of smoky oak and spicy notes add complexity.
Marble Leaf 2015 Marlborough Pinot Noir is made from fruit sourced from four different sites in the Wairau Valley stretching from the Delta lakes 15%, North Bank 15% Raupara 30% and the foot of the Wither Hills 40%. The wine is matured in French oak barriques, 10% of which were new for 10 months prior to bottling. Elegant structure and texture are as important as varietal expression with this wine.
