"Plush, ripe, soft and fruity core with aromas of sweet white fleshed orchard fruits, a spice and leesy aromatic layer. Crisp, fruity, fresh and just dry on the palate. Satin texture with flavours of apple and spicy pear, white peach and a moment of ginger spice. Well-made and ready. Best drinking from today and through 2024" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Oct 2020

A fantastic vintage has resulted in fragrant citrus, red apple and stone-fruit aromas followed by an off-dry, richly textured palate with fresh, bright fruit characters and a gentle acidity.

This is from their two adjacent Waihopai vineyards. The soils in these blocks are a mixture of clay, gravel and silts. The clays provide lovely mouthfeel and weight to this wine. The viticulture is quite intensive as they undertake shoot, bunch and colour thinning in order to ensure low crop levels, full ripening and concentrated flavours. 2020 was an outstanding vintage so they picked the grapes at perfect ripeness, with great flavour and in wonderful condition.

The winemaking for this wine was very straight forward. They are simply seeking to translate the wonderful characters we get from the vineyards. The grapes were gently pressed and then fermented at cool temperatures to retain the naturally occurring, fresh fruit character. Fermentation was stopped with just a hint of residual sugar and the wine was bottled here at the winery. Cellar 2-3 years.

Food Pairing: Spicy foods, salmon, pâté, creamy pasta, roast pork or ideal just as a glass of wine on its own.
