Description

  • Off-dry style
  • Pear
  • Honeysuckle
  • Clean & refreshing

"Bright, light straw-yellow, slightly paler on the rim. The nose is softly-full with aromas of ripe pear, citrus and zest, along with a dusty layer of perfume. Off-dry to taste, medium-bodied, the palate has power, with flavours of ripe sweet pear, citrus and peels, along with white florals and a dusty layer of phenolic. The fruit is voluminous and ripe, with balanced, fresh acidity. The palate has alcohol power, and weight lifted the spice element. The light dusting of phenolic carries the fruit to a dry, light textured finish. This is an off-dry Pinot Gris, with body and richness, carry flavours of ripe pear, citrus and subtle floral on a dusty phenolic texture palate. Match with pork and spicy Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Fruit from Manutuke Coastal Vineyard" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jul 2020

This Organic Pinot Gris is fruit driven with lovely pear and honey suckle flavours. An easy drinking style, clean, fresh with an off dry finish. Medium-dry in style and certified organic.

Following a hands off approach the fruit was harvested a little later than normal to enhance the fruit sweetness and then the juice was then left to soak overnight with the skins to extract a little more texture and complexity.  Extended lees stirring during a ferment kickstarted with wild yeasts from the vineyard itself has added layers of interest to the nashi, apple and honeysuckle-soaked palate.  Excellent length of flavour makes this a star, clean, tangy and tasty.

The wine is made from grapes grown using natural farming methods, applying organic and bio-dynamic methods.  The wine is low allergen – minimal additives. Good for the environment – The conservation message.  In releasing this wine brand, this company has formed a partnership with The Women’s Native Tree Project Trust. Kiwis love and are proud of their natural country. Clean, green New Zealand at its very best.  A big statement – Let’s back it up.

The Natural Wine Co represents what New Zealand is all about – kiwi ingenuity, hard work and honesty.
