Description

  • Deep red berries
  • Wild rose
  • Earthy spice
  • Youthful style

"From organically grown fruit - aromas of cherries and red plum, wild rose scents, soft brown baking spices and whispers of wood smoke. Dry on the palate with dusty chalky tannins, plenty of acidity then flavours that reflect the nose. More wood spice and red apple notes emerge. Lengthy youthful finish with persistent textures and flavours. Needs more integration time, but overall balanced and well made. Drink from late 2020 through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommeliers, May 2019

"Yes it’s shiny and new and has a light ruby hue but this wine is packed with cranberry, redcurrant, cherry and bright, banging spices. Lush, refreshing and showing rather lovely “chew”, this organically grown glass of goodness by Callum and Sarah Linklater wraps itself around the thyme and nutty notes of these awesome slow-baked alliums (that’s its genus, if you want to get sciency) darn nicely indeed" Yvonne Lorkin, Apr 2019

The focus of 100% family owned Windrush Organic is and will always be growing premium certified organic grapes. Soil management is their priority and they believe strongly in investing in people, farm machinery and diligent operations. Their wine is made in the style they like to drink – it’s honest, it’s real and it’s thoughtful. It tastes as good as the grapes, and there is no hiding from the vintage. They asked a good friend to make their wine, Cullen Neal is a vineyard manager as well as a winemaker and has a great understanding of organic viticulture.
