"This is attractively fruited and inviting on the nose showing spiced cherry, sweet raspberry, game, mixed spice and toasted almond characters. The W5 Pinot Noir presents a bold cherry red in colour in the glass and a beautiful bouquet of bright red berries, black olive and warm spiced fruit. This is a Pinot Noir made in an elegant style with flavours of rich plum, spiced cherry and wild thyme. Full bodied and well-structured, silky tannins create a full round weighty palate. There is an excellent concentration and length with savoury oak and a lingering, silky finish. Seasoned with a mixture of new and older French oak.
Fruit was sourced from a number of specifically chosen naturally low cropping vineyards from the Southern Valleys region of the Wairau Plain in Marlborough.
Drinking beautifully now, this wine can be enjoyed young, or with careful cellaring will mature into a deeper, more complex wine.
Food Pairing: Perfect to enjoy alongside spring lamb roasted with garlic and rosemary.
