Description

  • French oak
  • Raspberry
  • Cherry pie
  • Silky finish

"It is brightly expressed on the nose showing blackberry, raspberry, smoked game, thyme and cedar characters. The palate is succulent and plump, displaying vibrant fruit flavours backed by seductive spicy nuances, leading to a persistent silky finish. The wine is generously fruited and refreshing. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2018

"This has a mellow, blueberry, plum and old-wood spice style that really beckons for the barbecue and casual drinking. The palate is very smooth, succulent and easy with a fresh, glossy, red-fruit core" James Suckling, Jun 2019

"Cherry pie aromas. The palate is taut and reserved with bright raspberry flavours, underlying savouriness and a refreshing vein of acidity. Perfectly medium-bodied. An excellent food wine" Toni Patterson, The Real Review, Feb 2019

Medium/deep red in colour in the glass. Lifted aromas of spiced cherry and blueberry fruit with some choc/mint notes overlay a gentle earthiness adding another dimension. The French oak is very much in the background not playing a major role here. On the palate is bright, juicy and very approachable, the blueberry and chocolate flavours are nicely tempered by some savoury tannins and well-balanced acidity. Quite long and satisfying.
