With aromas of boysenberry and dark cherry that lead to a savoury, complex palate. This wine has a smooth texture and layers of dark fruit characters.
A pioneer in the Wairau Valley, Grove Mill is dedicated to crafting premium wines with minimal environmental impact. The Southern Bell Frog, for which they have established a wetland beside our winery, is a symbol of this commitment to preserve the land for the enjoyment of future generations.
The fruit for Grove Mill's Pinot Noir was harvested from Wairau vineyards including their flagship vineyard, '17 Valley'. Good soil and canopy management, along with cold nights during ripening and a beautiful Indian summer, kept all the concentrated flavours in the grapes which you can now taste in the wine.
The grapes were harvested during the cold of the night to avoid unnecessary phenolic extraction and to preserve primary fruit. Gentle winemaking techniques combined with an 10 month maturation in 18% new French oak deliver a dark and robust Pinot Noir.

Outstanding. A lot more depth of flavour than most of the Marlborough Pinots.Tried the first bottle and immediately tried to order more, but unfortunately sold out.
