Description
The 2016 vintage of Robert Mondavi's Private Selection Chardonnay is rich and creamy with a balanced acidity and finish. Presenting flavours of baked apples, poached pears, pineapple, lime with baking spices, and toasty oak.
The 2016 growing season started with some welcome winter rains, a fairly early budbreak followed by warm spring temperatures and a mild summer. The grapes ripened steadily and uniformly and produced fruit with great concentration, sugar acid balance, and flavours.
The grapes for this 2016 Chardonnay were sourced from California's coastal growing regions where warm days and cool nights provide ideal ripening conditions for grapes to develop bright, ripe fruit flavours and crisp acidity. The grapes were harvested at night and in the early morning to preserve ideal acidity and sugar levels. Harvest ran from September through October 2016. The grapes were pressed as whole clusters, then cold fermented the juice in stainless steel to fully capture its fresh flavors. Seventy percent of the blend also underwent malolactic fermentation to foster a rich, creamy mouthfeel. Seventy percent of the wine was aged for eight months with French oak.
Food Pairing: We recomend enjoying this delicious wine with an American classic of roasted turkey served with rosemary stuffing or the rich flavours of chicken cordon bleu. Also pairing beautifully with stuffed Dover sole or fettuccine Alfredo.

Really are enjoying this Chardonnay to me it’s how they should be made. The old fashioned way very smooth hasn’t got that bite at the back . Don’t have it to cold excellent wine,
