Description

"Youthful, bright and elegantly fragrant, the bouquet shows feijoa, white stone fruit, lime zest and passionfruit aromas, leading to a concentrated and focused palate that is lively and vibrant. The wine offers excellent fruit purity and intensity, wonderfully framed by juicy acidity. A delightful sauvignon offering plenty of delectable flavours" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"This is a consistently good buy. Grown in the Wairau and Waihopai valleys, the 2016 vintage (****) was mostly handled in tanks; 3 per cent of the blend was barrel-fermented. Crisp and punchy, it's a ripely herbaceous wine, with very good intensity of passionfruit/lime flavours, crisp and dry (2 grams/litre residual sugar). Fine value" Michael Cooper, MA ONZM

"This 2016 is looking very smart. It has moved into the stone fruit flavour spectrum, with ripe peach and Mirabelle plum flavours prominent, along with some suggestions of tropical fruit. Attractive ripe acidity plays a big role, the finish is long and balanced. Excellent value" Cuisine Magazine, Nov 2017

"A gently voluminous nose with subtly packed, dense aromas of gooseberry fruit harmoniously melded with passionfruit notes and hints of tropical fruits. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features vibrant and tightly bound flavours of gooseberries, tropical fruits, white florals and fresh herbs" Raymond Chan

Soft golden colour with light green hues. Intensely aromatic with a blend of gooseberries, passionfruit and lime zest on the nose. A burst of concentrated gooseberry and passionfruit flavours leads to superb fruit richness and a long textural mouth feel with a clean limey dry finish.

This wine is produced from vineyards in the Waihopai Valley and the Wairau Valley of the stunningly beautiful Marlborough region of New Zealand. The soils are ancient river beds with a mix of free draining stony soils and clay loams. the viticulture process included a vertical shoot positioned trellis being used with three canes pruned and laid down providing an average of 11 tonnes per acre. The vintage was a stunning summer with cool evening temperatures provided intense flavours and beautiful structure.

Food Pairing: This wine is delicious as an aperitif, with long lunches and chicken dinners, and is delightful with Thai spicy green lipped mussels.
