Description

  • Dry style
  • Gooseberry
  • Passionfruit
  • Tangy acidity

"Bright, pale straw-yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is softly full, with sweet aromas of melon, peach and passionfruit underlying tomato vines and saline. Medium-light bodied, aromas of melon, peach and passionfruit interweave subtle herb and tomato vines and linger with fine spice and salinity. Sweet, ripe-flavoured fruit forms a round core; tangy, vibrant acidity provides balance and good energy, flowing with dusty phenolics left a silky mouthfeel. This elegant Sauvignon Blanc flows along a silky palate, shows generous fruit and tangy acid balance" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Nov 2022

"It’s beautifully fragrant on the nose showing white flesh stone fruit, lemon/lime peel and fresh fig notes, followed by a succulent palate delivering splendid fruit purity combined with fine texture and bright acidity, finishing lingering and delectable. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2022

"A classic bouquet of ripe fleshy stone fruits laced with nettles and gooseberry, fresh herbs and fruit spice. On the palate a brief satin touch then a wave of acidity and fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet - peach and apple, apricot and tropical fruit moments. Balanced, well made and ready with best drinking from 2022 through end of summer 2024" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Oct 2022

Lifted aromas of tropical fruits, limes and nectarines. Intense citrus/stone fruit flavours balanced by a savoury, mineral-like quality and salivating acidity.

Selected Hawkes Bay fruit from the Bridge Pa, Taradale and Esk Valley sub-regions.

Sauvignon Blanc grapes were sourced from three subregions in Hawkes Bay contributing a range of aromas and flavours to the wine. The fruit was destemmed and gently pressed with the juice fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks to capture the vibrant, fresh fruit characters. A small amount of residual sweetness was retained to balance the acidity and the wine bottled early to preserve its youthfulness and vitality.
