Description

  • French oak
  • Dark plum & cherries
  • Cedar
  • Fine tannins

"It's complex and engaging on the nose showing dark plum, spiced cherry, olive, cedar and warm spice aromas, followed by a concentrated palate that's flowing and lingering. The wine offers excellent fruit purity together with seductive savoury nuances, elegantly framed by polished tannins. Superbly composed and harmonious. At its best: now to 2028": Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2020

"Wild red flowers and red berries, distinctive soil and baking spices of wood aromas, nothing but pinosity within a harmonious bouquet. On the palate - delicious, ripe and fruity with flavours of spicy red cherry, red apple, currant, some plum and dried herb. The tannins add in a soft mealy texture and acidity carries the messages of youth and pinosity. A balanced and well made wine, harmonious and delicious. Best drinking from today and through 2025+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, May 2020

"Bright, medium ruby-red colour with a youthful purple hue, even throughout. The nose is delicate with depth and intensity, unveiling aromas of dark cherries, raspberries, entwined with lifted florals and a fine layer of dry herbs; along with sweet oak spice elements. Medium-full bodied rich and elegant fruit flavours of dark cherries, dark raspberries showing off its youthful vibrancy of primary fruit. The fruit is intricate by dry herbs and oak spice elements along with lifted violet florals. Fresh and lacy acidity, supported by fine-grained tannin structure and alcohol power drives a long sustained finish. This is an elegant and refined Pinot Noir with aromas of dark fruit, floral and dry herbs details; lacy fresh acidity enlivened the wine and oak elements provides spices and silken fine-grained tannin structure. Match with wild duck and boar over the next 5+ years. Handpicked, 10% whole bunch, wild yeast fermented to 13.5% alc, aged in French oak barriques for 11 months, 30% new oak. Vegan. BioGro organic certified" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jun 2020

"Reasonably light, savoury pinot noir with cherry, dried herb, violet, oyster-shell, spice and anise flavours. Youthful wine with fine, grippy tannins and bright acidity. A good result from a challenging vintage" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Mar 2020

A Pinot Noir with generous richness & flavor concentration. Layers of ripe fruit, floral and spice with a gentle tannin line. Unfined and bottled on site.

The first week of November and the month of December were very hot and dry - perfect conditions for flowering. The vines produced a solid crop with large bunches. Careful leaf plucking to open the canopy and significant bunch thinning was required to ensure quality targets were met. Rain in January and February gave the soils a top up and ensured canopies stayed healthy. Overall one off the warmest seasons of the last 10 years produced beautiful, healthy Pinot bunches with great flavour intensity.

Their approach is simple and traditional. After careful hand picking and sorting each batch of Pinot Noir was allowed to soak on skins at ambient temperatures before going through wild fermentation. They gently hand plunged each vat daily before pressing to French oak barriques after one month maceration. Each barrel goes through a natural malo-lactic fermentation the following Summer, before blending and bottling 12 months after harvest.
