Description

  • Subtle oak
  • Almond
  • Apricot
  • Lemon Meringue

Rich gold in the glass with a fresh hazelnut, almond aromas wrapped in a vanilla peek through the aromas of subtle spice and toasted oak. The palate showcases flavours of white peach, Honeycrisp apple, apricot and lemon meringue. A balanced acidity, bright fruit flavours and a creamy mouth feel fills the palate, creating a lovely finish.

Where warm days give way to cool nights, and grapes hang on the vines slowly soaking in the sun, Cupcake Vineyards offers an extensive portfolio of finely-crafted wines to help you celebrate your everyday moments of joy. Their winemaker, Jessica Tomei, explores vineyards all over the world to source the best grapes possible for Cupcake wines but this little number came from her very own backyard, California’s Central Coast, with grapes from California’s esteemed Monterey County. This wine epitomizes the Central Coast’s crisp and vibrant Chardonnay character. Malolactic fermentation imparts a rich buttery flavour, whilst being left sur lie achieves a full, soft body. Aging takes place over nine months in premium American oak barrels to enhance the golden colour, adding a creamy texture and injecting nuances of subtle toasty oak and spice.

Food Pairing: Enjoy with crab cakes or copious amounts of sunshine.

We really enjoy it as it is a bit like some of the early Chardonneys, buttery but subtle.
