A complex Marlborough Merlot bursting with dark plum, red cherry, and vanilla notes with a perfectly balanced elegant structure. Harvested from a number of naturally low cropping vineyards in Marlborough’s Rapaura sub region, this Merlot is intensely concentrated with aromas of ripe black cherries and a hint of toasted oak to finish. Drinking beautifully from the outset, this wine can be enjoyed young or with careful cellaring, will mature into a fuller more complex wine that can be enjoyed for the next seven years or beyond.
The young wine was kept in contact with skins and tasted daily until the right extraction and balance was achieved then gently pressed. Once settled it was then racked to seasoned French and American oak where it underwent malolactic fermentation.
