Description

  • Smoky oak
  • Ripe plum & blackcurrants
  • Savoury spices
  • Fine tannins

"Youthfully fruited and attractively expressed, showing sweet plum, pomegranate, floral and mixed spice aromas on the nose. The palate displays elegant weight and supple mouthfeel, leading to a lingering smooth finish" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2021

Aromatic with ripe blackcurrants, plums and savoury spices. A fruit driven wine with flavours of ripe berry fruits and delicate smoky oak notes. A rich structure is supported by fine tannin and a touch of spice on the finish. Drinking well now, this wine will continue to develop for another five years.

Sourced from two low cropping sites in Marlborough’s Wairau plans and the Hawkes Bay region, the fruit was carefully monitored to ensure it was harvested at the peak of flavour development and ripeness.

The grapes were cold soaked on skins for five days to maximise flavour and colour extraction. Following primary fermentation the wine was aged on light lees then blended, balanced and carefully prepared for bottling.

Food Pairing: Delicious with juicy fillet steak and portobello mushrooms.
