Description

  • French oak
  • Black cherry
  • Mocha coffee
  • Silky tannins

"Vibrant purple and ruby appearance lead to aromas of equal vibrato - dark cherry and raspberry then scents of toasty wood and clove. On the palate - young and fruity, varietal and fleshy, flavours of cherries, red apples and raspberry then violets and roses, baking spices and mild sweet vanilla wood. Balanced and well made, young and fresh. Could do with some cellar time so decant for service or best enjoyed from mid 2021 through 2025" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jun 2020

Deep garnet in colour, this wine is dark and brooding with aromas of black cherry, mocha coffee and liquorice. The palate has black forest chocolate gateaux notes with a rich, grainy mid-palate, plush mouthfeel, silky tannins and a juicy finish.

Sourced predominately from the Southern Valleys, this Pinot Noir went through fermentation in open top fermenters and was hand plunged. This brought out the perfumed berry fruit as well as increasing the silky mouthfeel of the wine. The wine was then aged for 10 months in French oak barrels and 4,500 litre French oak cuves.

Food Pairing: Beautiful with rich game dishes.
