"Gorgeously fruited and fabulously lifted, the bouquet shows apricot, mango, feijoa and lime peel aromas, leading to a delectably expressed palate that is filled with youthful fruit flavours backed by lively acidity, finishing long and refreshing. Up front and very tasty" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit Aug 2019

This Sauvignon Blanc brings ripe citrus aromas melded with tropical fruits. Laden with juicy rock melon, vibrant stone fruits and a fresh blackcurrant leaf aspect, this wine has a long and vibrant finish.

Selected parcels of cool climate premium grown fruit were sourced from the family owned Blind River vineyard. Located south of the Awatere Valley, there is a strong coastal influence and it is known to be one of the driest sub-regions in Marlborough. Sauvignon Blanc flavour development occurred early and acids softened to become one of the key aspects for picking decisions. The 2019 wines exhibit elevated blackcurrant leaf thiols.

The 2019 growing season started well in Marlborough with good soil moisture and warm, even springtime temperatures. Intermittent rainfalls resulted in cooler soil temperatures. Budburst was fairly even and spring growth saw steady development, with only a few minor frost events. Extended hot and dry periods after flowering resulted in low disease pressure and outstanding quality fruit.

Once harvested, the fruit was gently pressed and the juice fermented at cool temperatures to capture the vibrant fruit flavours from the vineyard.
