"A classic Gisborne California peaches, yellow apple and vanilla cream-patisserie bouquet. Bright, fresh and youthful. Youthful, fruity and fresh on the palate with a fine tension from the acidity, oak and fine wood tannins. Balanced and well made with flavours that reflect the nose. Ready to drink from today and through 2023" Cameron Douglas, MS, Oct 2020

"It's attractively fruited and gently lifted on the nose showing golden peach, Gala apple, grapefruit and nougat characters. The palate delivers elegant weight and ripe fruit flavours, backed by creamy mouthfeel and bright acidity, finishing juicy and lingering" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2019

"Well fruited wine, smooth in texture yet dry.  Little oak influence. Food-friendly style, drinking well now with no rush into 2022" Peter Saunders

The 2019 vintage has been praised as fantastic, attributing the quality to a good, long, hot, dry ripening period. January was the region’s sunniest and second
warmest since records began in 1905. In February, parts of Gisborne experienced above average rainfall, but March was hot.

Once at optimal ripeness and flavour ready the grapes were harvested in the cool of the early morning to preserve their flavour, then gently pressed with the resultant juice fermented using selected yeast strains known for their aromatic qualities.

The wine was then aged in contact with high quality new and old French oak, and left on yeast lees for 2 months to enhance texture and palate weight.
This is a classic, soft and elegant style of Chardonnay that has great fruit expression with just a hint of cedary French oak that adds to its complexity. This
wine will age gracefully over the next 2-3 years.

Food Pairing: We recommend this smooth Chardonnay to be pair with a oven roasted chicken, stuffed with an herbed butter over roasted butternut squash and kumara medley.
