Description

Ever popular have been our previous Gold Medal Portugese collections, we've put together this exclusive Premium Collection of our favourite Portugese reds, boasting an impressive 9 gold medals!

Portugal has been hailed, by those wine buffs at Wine Spectator magazine, as “the most exciting wine place on the planet”. And rightly so. There is incredible value to be had, rich, robust reds and a heritage of winemaking excellence that goes back centuries.

Fans of smooth, mouth filling smooth reds take note of this case!

Collection includes:

2 x Casa Santos Lima Bonavita Tinto 2016 (Portugal)

Awarded Gold Medal: Prodexpo Wine Competition 2018

Awarded Gold Medal: China Wine & Spirit Awards 2018

Awarded Gold Medal: Selections Mondiales Des Vins 2018

Awarded Gold Medal: Austrian Wine Challenge 2018

This irresistibly juicy red comes from Lisbon’s renowned Casa Santos Lima and Portugal’s ‘Best Young Winemaker 2016’, Diogo Sepúlveda. Having also worked in Pomerol and in the Barossa with heirloom Shiraz vines, his credentials for making this rich, old vine Portuguese red are second to none. Fans of smooth, mouthfilling wines take note – a delicious blend of Portuguese grapes with ripe plum and blackcurrant aromas. In the mouth it shows ripe black fruits and cherry notes. Chocolate and liquorice flavours, given by ageing in oak barrique, dominate a long and smooth aftertaste.

2 x Lab Reserva Lisboa Vinho Tinto 2016 (Portugal)

Awarded Gold Medal: Austrian Wine Challenge

Awarded Gold Medal: Challenge International du Vin

Awarded 93/100 Points & 5 STARS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Bright and pristine, yet flavoursome and satisfying, the wine shows Black Doris plum, sweet raspberry, floral and roasted nut characters on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that is plump and fleshy. It is rounded and silky-smooth with gorgeous fruit flavours, finishing persistent and velvety. A blend of Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Many Black Members will fondly remember LAB red as a lovely smooth, soft red. Good news, we can now introduce its big bold brother - LAB Reserva. If you love big smooth reds you must give this ripper a try!

2 x Lisbonita Lisboa Tinto 2017 (Portugal)

Awarded Gold Medal: Best Value - China Wine & Spirits Awards 2019

Awarded Gold Medal: Berliner Wein Trophy 2019

Awarded Gold Medal: Citadelles du Vin 2019

This irresistibly juicy red comes from Lisbon’s renowned Casa Santos Lima and Portugal’s ‘Best Young Winemaker 2016’, Diogo Sepúlveda. Excellent wines. Both the Bonavita and Lisbonita exceed anything NZ made I have tried before.
