Description

  • Dry style
  • Passionfruit
  • Kaffir lime
  • Guava

"A splendid rendition of the variety; the intensely aromatic bouquet shows passionfruit, kaffir lime, feijoa and green rockmelon characters, leading to a concentrated palate that offers fabulous fruit purity and vibrancy. The wine is gorgeously fruited and youthfully charming, packed with delicious flavours, finishing impressively long and zesty. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"More power, punch and texture than the Classic label, with passionfruit, box hedge, armpit, green capsicum and lime zest flavours. An exuberantly tangy sauvignon blanc with a lingering finish" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Aug 2019

This Sauvignon Blanc displays succulent passionfruit, guava and citrus with a mouth-watering finish. Our reserve Sauvingon Blanc wine practically defines Marlborough.

The 2019 growing season in Marlborough was not without some challenges. Cooler temperatures combined with higher then average rainfall resulted in a prolonged flowering and delayed start to the growing season. This was followed by a warm spell that lasted from December through to harvest, fast tracking maturity and increasing transpiration rates that helped put pressure on already low water supplies. Despite all this, the fruit ripened nicely on the vines, disease pressure was very low and we had clean, ripe and intensely flavoured fruit come harvest in April with soft approachable acids.

Once pressed at the winery, the juice was cool fermented in stainless steel to retain clean, crisp fruit flavours. The wine is bleneded from lower Wairau vineyards with the Rapaura sub-region providing generous, ripe, passionfruit and tropical flavours and multiple vineyard sites from the Dillon’s Point sub-region imparting a delicious blackcurrant herbal note.

Each bottle of Rapaura Springs tells the story of a lifetime. Of water and wine, and of generations of family working with nature. This label depicts the rocky aquifer at the Rapaura Springs home vineyard, and the pristine springs that connect it to the land. They make exceptional wines that reflect the remarkable landscapes, pure waterways and passionate people. The Reserve wines are expertly crafted from parcels with concentrated intensity that define the region.

Food Pairing: Perfectly pairing with creamy rock oysters or a tomato, feta & basil pasta.
