Description
"The Paul Jaboulet Aîné Parallèle 45 Blanc is a fine example of the special appeal of white wines from the Rhône. The Paul Jaboulet Aîné Parallèle 45 Blanc has an attractive bouquet with citrus and floral notes, fresh, balanced and juicy with good body" BELVini
Brilliant yellow colour, the nose is intense and expresive with aromas of apricot and citrus as well as floral notes. The roundness of this wine ties in perfectly with its fresness and the finish reveals subtle and mineral notes.
Vintage after vintage, ever since 1834 the Jaboulet family has demonstrated peerless expertise in producing Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné wines and bringing them to maturity. Six generations of cellar masters have succeeded on another and each year they have carefully recorded the secrets of that vintage. Today, Caroline Frey is carrying on that tradition so as to bring out the quintessence of their wines throughout their development. Thus, the "family secret" wine forms part of a continuous expertise gained over more than a century, a winemaking savoir-faire thatis passed in confidence from family to family.
Thriving in the fresh areas of Southern Rhône this wine come from clay and limestone soils that provide complexity, purity and expressive aromas. This wine is a blend of Grenache blanc, Marsanne, Viognier and bourboulenc grapes from 25-year-old vines.
Fall 2015 followed by winter are watered correctly, with 400mm of rainfall, the water reserves are filled in again. Winter temperatures are mild though with some frosts good for the vineyard sanitation. Flowering is 10 days late in comparison with 2015. Summer comes happily and perfectly in line with the summer solstice, with temperatures of 30 degrees celcius. Summer fulfilled expectations, radiant and warm but not scorching. In September, grapes are healthy and the weather is always summer-like. The vineyard caught up a part of its lateness taken in spring and can plan to harvet serenely at the usual time.
The grapes were harvested September 15th, hand-picked and directly whole bunch pressed. The wine is fermented at low temperature for 2 weeks in thermo-regulated tanks in order to keep all their aromatic potential. Ages 6 months on fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with delicate French cuisine such as Fricassé of curried mussles, Tressé of brill & salmon with sorrel, or Feuilleté de Maddock aux herbettes.
