Description

"Dijon clones 115 and 667 from a Bannockburn single vineyard fermented with 33% whole bunches to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 30% new French oak barrels. Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with purple hues, lighter on the edge. This has a softly full nose with good depth and density, the fruit aromas of dark red berry fruits, plums and liquorice harmoniously melded with complexing dark herb notes and nuances of spice. The aromatics are stylishly restrained in expression. Mediumfull bodied, rich and juicy flavours of dark red berry fruits, sour cherries and dark plums form an amalgam with dark herb and liquorice elements. The mouthfeel is soft textured with supple tannins and enlivened by lacy acidity. The flavours are carried with good drive to a long and sustained finish of dark berry fruit and dark herbs. This is a lively and juicy Pinot Noir with flavours of dark red berry fruit, plums and herbs, and a supple palate. Match with wild duck and pork dishes" Raymon Chan, Jan 2016

"Rich, fleshy and flavoursome Pinot Noir with ripe plum, dark cherry, anise, liquorice and spicy oak flavours. Generous and appealing wine that's delicious now but should develop well with further bottle age" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Aug 2015

Deep garnet colour in the glass. The bouquet showcases complex aromas of red and black berries, rich cherries and a spicy wildflower lift. The palate is soft, warm, sensual and mouth filling, with elegant flow and density. Fine tannins give the wine a long and persistent finish. The flavours are rich, with a fine blend of cherry and red plum, and French oak.
