Description
The 2018 Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc offers a complex array of Marlborough aromas and flavours. Tropical fruit, citrus and black currant drive the palate to a long, saline finish.
The fruit for our Sauvignon Blanc was primarily harvested from lower Wairau vineyards including our flagship vineyard, 17 Valley. Good soil and canopy management, along with cold nights during ripening and a beautiful Indian summer, kept all the concentrated flavours in the grapes which you can taste now in the wine. The grapes were harvested during the cold of the night to avoid unnecessary phenolic extraction and to preserve primary fruit. Gentle winemaking techniques and cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks helped to protect the bright fruit characters. Three months of lees contact gave the wine great texture and richness.
