"A vibrant, energetic shiraz gamay blend with gentle spice, redcurrant and dark cherry flavours plus excellent mid-palate weight. Impressive succulence and softness" Toni Paterson, The Real Review, Aug 2018
"Deep, bold, bright red/purple colour. The bouquet is deliciously sweet-fruited, aromatic, raspberry-like and ripe, with a cabernet-like nuance and a lot of berry-like aromatics. The palate is gorgeously fruit-sweet and succulent, soft and fleshy but also deep and intense, with a lingering aftertaste and satisfying balance. An excellent light to medium-weight shiraz. I want to drink this!" Huon Hooke, The Real Review, Aug 2018
A deligthful vibrant red with purple edge in the glass. This delicious blend shows a perfumed fresh nose Spicy alluring nose of red and dark fruits, dry herb and graphite.
Whilst the palate is supple with fine texture, rich with blueberry fruits, earth and forest naunces. Showcasiing lots of spices.
Made from a blend of Syrah (82%) and Gamay Noir (18%) from the Northen end of the Yarra Valley. 2017 was a long cool growing season producing outstanding late maturing red varieties. Grapes ripened very evenly with good tannin development at sensible alcohols. In the winery a mixture of whole bunches and whole berries with some early foot stomping to create some juice to start the fermentation. A combination of foot plunging and turnovers during fermentation. Pressed and racked to 500 litre casks for 6 months. The resulting wine offers fabulous drinking now or the opportunity for cellaring of upto 3-4 years in a good cellar.
Food Pairing: A fabulous pairing with rich meat dishes such a Spaghetti Bolognasie. Also ideal enjoyed alongside French charcuterie such as terrine, rillettes or pates.
