Description
"Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very fresh and elegant in presentation with bright, fragrant aromas of white stonefruits with pear elements, and suggestions of stonefruit kernels at the heart, unveiling subtle nuances of exotic florals and steely minerals. Medium-dry to taste, the palate has an elegant core of fresh, elegant stonefruit flavours with suggestions of pear and honeysuckle along with subtle nuances of stonefruit kernels and nuts. The wine has a fresh, firm heart and line, flowing along a fine line with supporting acidity lending freshness, leading to a clean, lingering finish. This is a crisp, elegant, finely concentrated medium-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, pear and honeysuckle flavours and soft nutty nuances and a linear palate. Fruit from sites in the Omaka and Waihopai valleys, fermented in stainless-steel with19% in seasoned oak to 13.0% alc. and 24.1 g/L RS, the oaked portion undergoing MLF" Raymond Chan, Jul 2018
"It is elegantly fragrant on the nose showing green rockmelon, fresh pear, lemon zest and apple blossom aromas, leading to a brightly expressed palate that is juicy and lively. The wine offers delicate fruit intensity and fine texture, backed by refreshing acidity. Beautifully poised and refined. At its best: now to 2020." Wine Orbit, 2018.
This Pinot Gris displays a pale gold colour in the glass. Fresh white pear and subtle spice aromas paired well with hints of delicate blossom. On the palate there are elegant textural layers of spice and fresh pear with a dry mineral finish.
The fruit was sourced from a selection of vineyards in Marlborough's Omaka and Waihopai Valleys and harvested at optimum flavour ripeness. A small postion was fermented in old oak and underwent malolactic fermentation in order to add complexity and texture.
Food Pairing: Drinking well now, this wine will increase in opulence and complexity over at least the next three years.
Easy drinking and delicious, this wine pairs perfectly for any occassion.
