Description
Intense purple-red in colour in the glass. On the nose it is persistent, characterized by perfumes of cherries mingled with gentle spicy notes, especially black pepper. On the palate the wine is well balanced, ripe and lively with soft and round tannins lingering through the finish.
From the hilly zones in Vinci, Cerreto Guidi and surrounding areas. This wine comprises of a blend of Sangiovese (85%), Merlot (10%) and other local Italian red grape varities (5%). In the winery this wine was macerated on the skins during fermentation that lasts approximately 8 days. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 28-29°C. Frequent pumping over and delastages are made to ensure an intense and persistent fruit aroma. A small part of the mass spend a little period in new and aged French oaks for 6 months in order to add complexity to the wine.
