"Dense and appealing black fruit complemented by spice and delicate charcuterie notes. Smoky oak finish with fine tannins." International Wine Challenge

A remarkable, rich and powerful red from the Languedoc, showcasing the old-vine treasures that survive in the region's arid soils. Winemaker is Cave De Roquebrun’s Alain Rogier, 2015 the International Wine Challenge, Winemaker of the Year, who adores all aspects of the region's wines. Dense and complex with velvety blackberry spice. A wine brimming with character.

“Even better and the flagship of the estate, the 2015 Côtes du Rhône Villages Saint Maurice Guillaume de Rouville is up there with some of the top Côtes du Rhônes made. Its inky purple color is followed by lots of ripe plum, black raspberry, toasted spice and ample peppery characteristics and nuances. Rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and textured, with good acidity, drink it on release and anytime over the following decade.” Jeb Dunneck, RobertParker.com

Domaine Lafage Tessellae Carignan Vieilles Vignes 2014 (Cotes du Roussillon)

Awarded 93/100 Points:  Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2016

Awarded 92/100 Points: Robert Parkers, The Wine Advocate, 2015

"A beautifully composed and expressed wine made from old vines, the complex bouquet shows dark plum, dark chocolate, cedar and floral characters with nuances of game and Christmas spices. The palate is concentrated and richly fruited, yet not heavy, and offers velvety texture and sweetly rounded tannins. The wine delivers an abundance of delectable flavours, while remaining stylish and structured. At its best: now to 2019" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2016

A crazy value, the 2014 IGP Cotes Catalanes Tessellae Carignan Vieilles Vignes is one of the best examples of this variety from the Roussillon, and the fact that it sells for a song is just icing on the cake for the consumer. Coming all from schist soils and 70-year-old vines, raised 12 months in a mix of concrete tanks and demi-muids, it offers tons of black raspberry and black cherry fruit, licorice and dried spices to go with a super sexy, heady, seamless style on the palate that keeps you coming back to the glass. Drink this blockbuster over the coming 2-3 years.
