SINGLE VINEYARD BARREL AGED Chardonnay from the alluvial soils of Hawkes Bay.
"Here’s an incredibly ‘pure’ chardonnay that’s packed with tropical tang, so expect pineapple, nectarine and tangelo notes alongside honey-buttered cinnamon toast and creamy layers in the mid-palate. The acidity is elegantly structured, there’s lovely balance and interest in this wine and those citrus forward flavours linger long after the first sip"
This is a full, bold flavoursome Chardonnay with ripe tropical fruit
Hand selected fruit with 12 months maturation in new and one year old French oak

Description
SINGLE VINEYARD BARREL AGED Chardonnay from the alluvial soils of Hawkes Bay.
"Bright, light golden-hued yellow colour. This has a full, broad and bold nose of ripe tropical fruit intermingling with savoury citrus fruits and yellow stonefruits, melded with layers of creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak, lifted fermentation esters and buttery and butterscotch-like MLF. Medium-full bodied, the flavours of ripe tropical fruits and citrus fruits are powerful and fulsome, and entwined with layers of creamy barrel-ferment and nutty, toasty oak, and buttery MLF. The mouthfeel is rich and plush with an underlying soft, phenolic line guiding the flow. This has good energy with poised acidity and driving power. The wine carries to a strong, sustained finish with lifted notes and fermentation esters, complexed by nutty and creamy elements. This is a full, bold flavoursome Chardonnay with ripe tropical fruit, lifted esters and creamy, nutty and buttery richness. Match with roast pork over the next 4-5 years. A single vineyard wine, clones 95 and Mendosa, the fruit hand-picked and barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 30% new oak with 100% ML " Raymond Chan

Hand selected fruit with 12 months maturation in new and one year old French oak, the wine is beautifully textured, full bodied with butterscotch and spicy oak flavours.
Displaying mineral tones from the Terrior, this wine has a delightful and very long finish.

Amazing was my first mystery purchase with BlackMarket. This wine is everything I love and have been missing in Chardonnay lately. I really enjoyed the creamy oak balance. Loved it so much went and brought another 6 bottles immediately.

After drinking the first bottle I checked out its other suppliers and found that it was indeed of a much higher value than which I had paid. It is stunning. A great deal! Incidentally I have bought a further dozen.

Lovely chardonnay, have been enjoying it so much we have ordered another case.
June - 28/04/2017
Not as rich and buttery as I really love my chardonnay, but very easy drinking nonetheless. About what I would expect to pay in the supermarket for a similar wine.
Catherine - 21/04/2017
Pleasant enough wine
Dave - 23/07/2017
I filed a wrong opinion before ... this is not 4 star value. Nothing Special and not the creamy thing written up.
Fraser - 13/05/2017
Quality wine but not big & buttery by my definition
