Description
"93pts.... brilliantly structured by fine tannins. Gorgeous drinking"
"The wine offers lovely fruit ripeness and richness, displaying lifted aromas of dark plum, spiced cherry, chocolate and espresso on the nose. It is up front and punchy, and offers beautifully rounded mouthfeel and density, brilliantly structured by fine tannins. Gorgeous drinking. At its best: now to 2019." Sam Kim Wine Orbit
"McLaren Vale fruit. Strong plum and eucalyptus, mint. Quite a supple red, not at all jammy. Moderately intense with a an interesting savoury character on the finish." Bob Campbell
"Full, even, black-red colour, near impenetrable. This has a fresh and bright nose with restrained aromatics of dark raspberry fruit harmoniously entwined with notes of black pepper and spices. The aromatics grow to unfold fragrant floral elements and a suggestion of minerally reduction. Medium-full bodied, the palate shows up-front juicy and lively fruit flavours of dark raspberries and blackberries, along with subtle black pepper and spice notes. The mouthfeel is fine, the sweet fruit balanced by light tannins and enlivened by fresh acidity. The wine carries with good energy to a light, peppery finish. This is a bright, juicy, up-front Shiraz with dark raspberry and peppery flavours on a light-textured palate. Serve with pizza and barbecued fare over the next 3-4 years. South Australian fruit from vines 8-37 y.o., fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged in seasoned oak and equivalents." Raymond Chan
Elegant expression of McLaren vale shiraz with bright fruit ,dark berries, spice , mint, chocolate, meaty, enhanced by judicious lick of vanillia oak. Delicious array of sweet fruit flavours with dominant blackcurrant, chocolate, mint flavour profile- more medium bodied than full bodied, fine dusty tannin but a super expression of terrior.
Hardys Oomoo was one of the first wines produced by Thomas Hardy at his original Bankside winery. Throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s it was Hardy’s most recognisable label, the word Oomoo adopted from the local Aboriginal dialect meaning ‘good’ or ‘attractive’.

Excellent body and taste for the money

My vintage was 2012 not 2013 (even better). Very smooth, very dense with well matured tannins. 4.5 stars more deserving perhaps but might not improve with any more age?
Rhys - 28/04/2017
Delicious!
Valerie - 22/03/2017

Graham - 21/03/2017
Really nice medium to heavy bodied Shiraz, a little bit sweet but otherwise a great drop.
Scott - 24/06/2017
Nice drop and good value for money but not exceptional value for money
