Description

"Aromas of cedar, allspice, and black currant lead to a medium to full-bodied wine with plenty of ripe, spicy fruit, a solid mid-palate, good grip and depth, and a fruit-filled finish"Jay S Miller, Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Deep red in appearance with a youthful purple hue. Concentrated flavours of red berry fruits, mocha and spice with ripe silky tannin and well integrated oak. Aromas of plum and blackberry, infused with hints of spice, herbs and dark chocolate.

Cookoothama is made from estate-grown fruit from the family's vineyards in the King Valley and Darlington Point. Cookoothama 'cooka-a-tharma' is the name of the family's vineyard at Darlington Point on the Murrumbidgee River and is the Aboriginal word meaning 'fertile land'. The two hands on the label represent the people who have lived and cultivated the land spread along the banks of the Murrumbidgee River transforming it into the prosperous land it is today.

The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for this wine is sourced from our Cookoothama Vineyard on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point in the Riverina.
