Fruit for this wine was sourced from several vineyards in the foothills of the Wairau Valley in Marlborough.
A fruit driven chardonnay with complex flavours of ripe stone fruit combine with a hint of toasted hazelnut and caramel. The palate is rich, generous and complex with an elegant structure and refined finish. The lengthy palate offers flavours of stone fruit, hazelnut, fig and subtle spice.
The majority of this Faultline Reserve Chardonnay was barrel fermented in a mixture of French and American oak. This wine went through malolactic fermentation which helps to soften the acidity and gives fullness on the palate.
A great wine for drinking immediately, or with careful cellaring of up to five years from vintage date this Chardonnay will develop into a fuller, more complex wine.
An ideal match with scallops, cream-based pasta dishes or roast chicken.
