"This is instantly appealing on the nose with dark berry, assorted nut, game and fragrant spice aromas. The palate delivers succulent fruit flavours with finely textured mouthfeel, beautifully framed by chalky tannins. A gorgeously versatile food wine. Aged 4 years. 85% Tempranillo & 15% Syrah" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Fragrant red wine with considerable finesse and roasted chestnut, floral/violets characters. Fine-grained red with a gently drying and lengthy finish. Appealing wine with cellaring potential" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review

A relatively rare blend of blend of Tempranillo and Syrah. This wine is an enterprising blend of old vine vineyards made by famous family-owned producer Bodega Muriel, founded in 1926 by José Murúa Villaverde.

Sourced from classic grape varieties selected from several regions in central Spain blended to create a smooth, rounded, complex, characterful, red that defies its price. The extreme continental climate of the central Spanish plains – hot dry summers and cold winters are key to developing flavour intensity and ripe, rounded tannins.

Grapes are hand-harvested crushed and destemmed then fermented in stainless steel for 10 days at cool temperatures to retain the purity of fruit. The wine is aged 4 years before release to develop character, integration and softness of texture.

Food Pairing: Ideal with charcuteries, grilled vegetables and most meat and cheese dishes.
