1 x Domaine Anita Moulin-à-Vent 'Tres Vielle Vigne Les Caves' 2021 (France)

AWARDED 96/100 POINTS: Stuart Pigott, Jamessuckling.com

"Stunning nose of licorice and ripe (but not overripe) plum. Very elegant and silky, this has so much mineral intensity and such fine tannins. The freshness at the finish could wake the dead! Hard to imagine how a wine could be more focused than this. From 80 and 100 year old vines. Drink or hold" Stuart Pigott, Jamessuckling.com

Anita Kuhnel’s first passion in life was professional cycling, that is until her former husband introduced her to her destiny – winemaking. In 2015, she took over 18 hectares of vines first planted in 1973 and created Domaine Anita. Domaine Anita includes some of the  most prestigious crus of Beaujolais including Moulin à Vent, Morgon, Chénas, Fleurie, as well as some plots located on great terroirs of the Beaujolais-Villages appellation.

Anita’s viticultural practices are specific to each plot, but always within her overarching philosophy of sustainable viticulture, with minimal treatments, green harvesting and strong canopy management.

1 x Cavallotto Barbera d'Alba Superiore Vigna del Cuculo 2019 (Italy)

AWARDED 91/100 POINTS: Monica Larner, RobertParker.com
AWARDED 91/100 POINTS: Wine Spectator Magazine

"The organic Cavallotto 2019 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Vigna Cuculo is ripe and opulent with thick layers of dark fruit and blackberry. There is attractive softness here, contrasted against bright acidity. The wine's strongest cards have to do with texture, plumpness and the irresistible drinking style that a cheerful and informal wine like this can bring to the table. Winemaking sees fermentation with semi-submerged caps and punch-downs for up to two weeks. The wine ages in large Slavonian casks in the family's ancient cellars for two years" Monica Larner, RobertParker.com

The Cavallotto family is the chief owner of the beautiful Bricco Boschis cru in the Castiglione Falletto district, where they have been growing Nebbiolo since 1929 and bottling their own wine since 1948. These richly structured wines place emphasis on elegance and longevity, attributable to excellent vineyards in the Bricco Boschis and Vignolo crus and traditional long maturation periods in large Slavonian-oak casks.

1 x Cuevas de Arom As Ladieras 2020 (Spain)

AWARDED 93/100 POINTS: Luis Gutierrez; Robert Parker's, The Wine Advocate

"Like the other wines, the 2020 As Ladieras could almost be a different wine. The grapes come from sloped vineyards on slate soils at 800 meters in altitude and were fermented with full clusters in concrete with indigenous yeasts and had a maceration of 55 days. It matured in a combination of concrete eggs, oak foudres and underground concrete tanks. It has medium ripeness, 13.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.36, floral, perfumed, aromatic, elegant and expressive. This is a very refined expression of Calatayud, medium-bodied and very tasty, with very fine, grainy tannins. 8,000 bottles were filled in September 2021"Luis Gutierrez; Robert Parker's, The Wine Advocate

With the 2020 vintage, Fernando Mora moved As Ladieras cuvée to a single, north-facing hillside of 50+-year-old, head-pruned vines of Garnacha in Calatayud. This relatively cooler site with its sandy slate and quartzite soils is considered the 1er cru of Cuevas de Arom. Only 650 cases and a few magnums are produced in an average vintage. 50+ year old vines, off Slate, quartzite & sand soils at over 800 meters altitude.
