Description

  • Medium-sweet style
  • Peach & candied apple
  • Honey & toast
  • Long finish

"Showing gorgeous bottle-matured complexity, the wine shows golden peach, candied apple, honey and toasty characters on the nose. It's equally satisfying on the palate, delivering excellent weight and intensity, together with seductive sweetness and well-pitched acidity, finishing delightfully long and delicious. Style: Medium-sweet. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2020

"This is moderate alcohol medium sweet expression with some bottle age. Aromas and flavours of dries apricots and preserved lemon, there’s a honeyed fruits and honeysuckle layer then red apple and bottle age complexity. Definitively medium sweet on the palate with a satin texture and contrasting acid line. Flavours of apples and preserved citrus fruits then some white flower notes add depth and complexity. Balanced, refreshing and well made. Best drinking from 2021 through 2023" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Mar 2021

Light straw. White peach and orange blossom, together with aromas of elderflower and nectarine. Hints of mandarin and lime also come through. Luscious and fresh with excellent intensity of vibrant peach and citrus flavours. A hint of sherbet combines with wonderful slatey minerality for a full, harmonious and lingering finish. Drinking very well on release, this wine will also develop nicely into 2017 and beyond.

With restricted yields these grapes were carefully selected, resulting in a finely textured wine of exceptional quality. Made in an expressive fruit driven style and stop fermented, the medium residual sweetness is finely balanced with citrus acidity.

A most unusual growing season across the district - after a relatively non-eventful spring, there were some short periods of cool and wet weather during flowering. This was followed by a warm and very dry summer with the bulk of the regions harvest completed up to two weeks earlier than usual. Fruit yield was down across the region and across varieties with reports varying from 20 to 50%. The low yields have contributed ripe flavours with great concentration and length and we should expect some terrific resulting wines from 2015.

Food Pairing: An excellent aperitif and well suited to vibrant salads and fragrant or moderately spiced cuisine .

Unctuous Riesling flavour with lovely age on it. Was so good I bought another dozen. One of the better ones I've had

An oldie but a goody

Nice Riesling. Bottle age and style is like a late harvest Riesling with less sweetness.
