"Pristine and splendidly charming, the wine shows dark plum, floral, mixed spice and toasted nut aromas on the nose, followed by a succulent palate displaying fine texture and supple mouthfeel. Beautifully smooth and rounded with fine polished tannins. At its best: now to 2034" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2022
"Intense, supple syrah with cassis, blackberry, black pepper, violet and spicy oak flavours. It sits perfectly between the big, rich blockbuster style and the taut, nervy, floral-focused kind of syrah. A stylish wine" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Jul 2022
Vibrant crimson with purple hues. Peppery spice aromas layered with cassis and restrained oak. Plush with fine grained tannins and balanced gental acidity.
Sourced from their dry farmed Havelock Hills and Moteo vineyards. Vines aged between 5 to 28 years. Grapes were harvested late March to early April 2020.
Grapes were destemmed to tank with traditional cap management and maceration to give varietal expression plus tannin evolution. Wine was pressed to tank for malolactic fermentation. Wine was aged on light lees prior to final blending. Lightly fined and filtered prior to bottling. Their approach with Syrah is an elegant, fruit-focused style.
