Description

  • Oaked
  • Blueberries
  • Dark chocolate
  • Smooth tannins

"This is the first release of an entry-level blend of Bordeaux varieties that maintains the usual high Squawking Magpie standards. Unlike many entry-level wines, this has good cellaring potential. Dense Gimblett Gravels red with cassis, dark berry, dark chocolate, liquorice and blueberry. A youthful, vigorous, high-energy wine that offers a mouthful of flavour and a firm structure. Outstanding value!" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review

"Ripe, fruity and varietal core with aromas of black currant and dark plum, spicy tobacco and smoky oak, baking spices and toasty barrel scents. Bold and expressive on the palate, equally ripe, very youthful with tannins and acidity chomping through my saliva then easing off the reveal core fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet. A lovely wine ready for cheese and red meats, pastas and vegan food. Best drinking from mid to late 2022 through 2027+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Nov 2021

Lovely perfumed and savoury wine. Very soft and smooth tannins. Sweet fruit flavours and lovely oak influences. Single vineyard.
