Description

  • American & French oak
  • Dark berries
  • Dark chocolate
  • Smooth & rich

"Ripe, intense, fruity, varietal and enticing. Aromas of blackcurrant and blueberry, black doris plum and baked apple pie scents, toasty barrel and a youthful, rich intensity. Youthful and enticing. Plush, ripe, fresh, fruity with rich flavours of dark berruies and plums then flavours of clove and dark baking spices, there’s a natural earthy quality and sweetness of barrel along with a natural varietal core. Balanced, fresh and well made with a lengthy finish and persistent flavour. Great drinking from 2022 through 2026+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier

"Full, deep ruby-red with a faint hint of garnet, lighter on edge. The wine has a full and powerful bouquet, rich aromas of bramble, cherries enriched by an amalgam of spice, medicinal herbs and smoke. Full-bodied, dark chocolate coasted bramble and cherries, unfolding spices, prune and a hint of smoky oak. The bright acidity enlivens the rich, dark chocolate grained tannins draw a long, savoury finish. A succulent, red-fruited Pinotage with lively acidity, spice and dark chocolate palate. Match with lamb stew and smoked brisket over the next 3-4 years. Handpicked, fermented to 14% alc over 3 weeks, spent a further 6 weeks post-ferment maceration, aged in 75% American oak and 25% French and Hungarian oak, blend with a percentage of Tnannt, Syrah and Merlot, for a total of 26 months" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan, Mar 2022

This Pinotage is deeply coloured with richness of red fruit aromas and wild game, blueberries and a gamey earthy balance. A smooth rich palate, displaying dark fruits, berries and hints of plum with extended tannins and dark chocolate.
