"A splendid expression of the variety showing apricot, mango, potpourri and orange peel aromas, followed by a concentrated palate displaying richly textured mouthfeel and beautifully pitched acidity, offering awesome drinking. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2021

"Attractively-scented Viognier with honeysuckle, white flowers, apricot and other stone fruit flavours. A ripe and concentrated wine, with appealing purity and a gentle structure of peppery phenolics" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Sep 2021

"Bright, pale yellow with a hint of green and some depth, even colour throughout. The nose is full, filled the glass with nuances of sweet pear, peach, melon melded with white florals. Medium-full bodied, bright aromas of peach, melon and ripe pear supported by lively acidity, followed by subtle floral fragrance and a hint of ginger. The wine has an oily mouthfeel; vibrant acidity lingers to a refreshing finish. This is a straightforward viognier with bright fruit and lively acid injection. Match with pork and fish dishes over the next 2 years. Fruit sourced from Loxton, Murray River, wild fermented to 13.5% alc, certified organic, vegan friendly" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Sep 2021

Pale lemon in colour with green hues. An exotic mix of white flowers, ginger and jasmine aromas with hints of apricot and fennel. The palate is creamy and rich with lingering flavours of fresh apricot nectar and almond meal, finishing with bright stonefruit and Asian five spice.

The soil profile was replenished with late winter and early spring rainfall. A late start to the season produced good canopy growth well into January. Cooler summer conditions in January and February were perfect for flavour development and maintaining fresh acidity at harvest.

Wonderful Viognier grapes are picked from the Barich family property adjacent to the Murray River at Loxton, the Bassham family’s vineyard in Barmera and the Strachan Vineyard at Renmark. They are all long-term growers with Yalumba. In 2018 they were joined by Yarra Vale Vineyard in Virginia. Meticulous work in all vineyards ensures the grapes are in perfect condition when they are picked.

This certified organic Viognier is made without the use of chemical fertilisers or pesticides in the vineyard. The wine was wild fermented using only natural yeasts present in the vineyard and on the grape skins, creating extra layers of complexity and flavour.

Food Pairing: Red duck curry, pad Thai or red lentil dhal with spinach.
