"Beautifully styled and inviting, the bouquet shows white flesh nectarine, crunchy apple, lemon peel and sweet pastry nuances, leading to a finely flowing palate that's creamy and lingering. Harmonious and balanced with elegant complexity, offering fabulous drinking" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Lemon and pale gold hues, very bright showing a consistent bead. Aromas and flavours of citrus, apple and peach, arrowroot and white clay set in a crisp dry frame. The mousse is plump and refreshing, acidity adds crispness and mouthfeel then the flavours of stone fruit and tree fruits return with a gentle lees finish. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier

"Slightly rustic sparkler with an initial hint of sweetness nicely balanced by moderately assertive acidity that gives a firm, dry finish" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review

Pale yellow colour, with fine bubbles. The nose has subtle notes of apple, pear and white flowers. It is fresh and dry and a great, easy drinking aperitif style.

The wine is a unique blend of local and classic varieties, the proportion of each grape variety necessarily changes each year to maintain the House style. Charles de Saint Céran Blanc de Blancs Brut is produced by natural fermentation in vat at low temperature (17-18°C) to preserve the fruit purity. After a slow "prise de mousse" at cellar temperature (10-12°C), the wine is left to rest on its lees for several months. The latter are "shaken" into suspension on a daily basis to obtain an optimal harmony. After a gentle filtration, the moderate "dosage" brings the final touch.

Varichon et Clerc was founded in 1901 in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France between Lyon and Geneva and are one of the region’s oldest and most important wine houses making Traditional Method sparkling wines. They are a truly authentic specialist in these terroirs producing light and invigorating wines that exude the freshness pure mountain air of the region. In 1996 the company became part of the Boisset Family of wineries where the excellent quality of their wines was quickly recognized internationally.
