Description

  • French oak
  • White peach & lychee
  • Vanilla & baking spices
  • Creamy & buttery

"Fruity, floral, mineral and varietal bouquet with aromas of apple blossoms, grapefruit, white peach and a delicate oyster shell mineral scent. There’s oak aromas as well with a light vanilla and lean toasty barrel layer. On the palate - dry with medium++ weight, a satin texture with contrasting acidity and flavours of peaches and chantilly cream, vanilla and baking spices. Balanced and well made, ready to enjoy upon purchase and through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Feb 2021

Aged in French oak. This wine displays aromas of mandarin, white peach and lychee. The palate is focused with primary fruit overlaying a textural, earthy taste with subtle creamy characters and a hint of vanilla and buttery oak components. Citrus mineralised stony acidity gives structure and a refreshing length.

Fruit is sourced from low yielding vines over 25 years of age. Hand-crafted with minimal intervention in the wine making process which ensures the depth of flavours and character comes through.

Lone Goat Vineyard is the wine venture of Matt King and Marion Seyb who in 2007 took over the original Giesen vineyard established over 30 years ago on Burnham School Road, outside of Christchurch. Matt has over 20 years wine industry experience. The vineyard is named after Ella the original goat on site, now succeeded by Zoe. The vineyard is situated on Canterbury’s free-draining alluvial plains and is 13.6 ha producing approximately 5,500 cases annually.
