Mon Cheval Waipara Valley Rosé 2020
Description
- Dry style
- Exotic spices
- Cherry
- Crisp
Remarkably crisp, dry style of Pinot Noir Rosé that is more about fine-grained texture than excessive fruitiness. A hint of exotic spices and a whiff of cherry flesh on the nose. The palate is gentle and very dry, reminding more of a European-style rosé, specifically Sancerre.
The 2.2 hectare vineyard, at the entrance to Weka Pass in North Canterbury, is planted with Pinot Noir and a small amount of Riesling. In keeping with this highly regarded region, their ambition is to create outstanding wine that simply reflects and preserves the terroir and flavours of the unique site. They sense they are stewards of a process. From tending the vineyard and handpicking grapes, to minimal intervention wine making and bottling Pinot Noir unfiltered and unfined, they take great care every step of the way.
