"Bright, light rose-gold with a salmon hue, faintly lighter on edge. The nose is soft and elegantly presented, nuances of peaches, nectarines, strawberries underlying creaminess and flower petals. Perfect weather over flowering in the spring of 2019 produced unprecedented berry numbers. Fortunately, the driest summer on record then suppressed the berry growth. By harvest time, berry size was small to moderate, which has given the wines substantial structure. Late summer brought Marlborough’s trademark cooler nights, that are so important to the aromatic qualities and retention of acidity. The introduction of a nationwide lockdown to slow the spread of COVID-19 coincided with the beginning of our harvest. The vineyard and winery teams moved incredibly fast to adhere to the very strict distancing and hygiene protocols to allow us to continue to operate.

After harvesting, selected parcels of fruit were allowed extended skin contact for 12 hours, for colour and flavour, before being gently pressed. The juice was cool fermented in stainless steel to capture all the vibrant fruit flavours and aroma. This wine is made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris.
