Description

  • Medium-dry style
  • Ripe citrus & lime sorbet
  • White florals
  • Vibrant acidity

"Offering scintillating clarity and purity, the wine shows white flesh nectarine, lime sorbet, green tea and white floral aromas on the nose. The palate exhibits brilliant focus and linear mouthfeel wonderfully enhanced by subtle sweetness and vibrant acidity, making the wine wonderfully harmonious and seamlessly persistent. Style: Medium-dry. At its best: 2022 to 2032" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2020

"Ripe, plush, fresh an very youthful bouquet. Aromas and flavours of fresh, pear, apple, citrus and citrus blossoms. Brown pear, yellow and green apple, sweet lemon and white spring flowers. A mineral core emerges with a fine wet pebble aroma. Off-dry at first with a deliberate residual sweetness and silky almost creamy attack, the acidity quickly kicks in to offer contrast as well as showcase the fruit and mineral flavours and add a crisp cleansing lengthy finish. Needs another few weeks to settle in fully. Best drinking from November/December 2020 through 2026+. An easy choice for foods with a natural sweetness of their own or with a medium spice attribute" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jul 2020

"Bright, pale yellow-lime, even throughout. The nose is elegant and youthful with aromas of lemon, lime sherbet, apricot, melded with orange blossoms and pollen, along with lightly honeyed cereal and delicate spices. Medium-light bodied, off-dry to taste, thirst-quenching lime sherbet and young apricot are lightly sweetened by honey, entwined with citrus peels, orange blossoms and subtle spices. The acidity is mouthwatering and vibrant, balanced by the 27.5 g/l sugar sweetness, left the finish refreshingly dry without being cloying. Good tension of the acid carries citrus peels through the palate and left a light grip. The purity of fruit and thirst-quenching acidity are the main features of this refreshing Riesling. Match with shellfish and salty pork cracklings over the next 3-5 years. Fermented in stainless steel to 11% alc, 27.5 g/l RS. Rested on its lees for 3 months" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Aug 2020

Aromas of ripe citrus, honey suckle and sherbet are mixed with toasted sesame seeds and savoury almond notes. The palate is delicate and pure with an old fashioned lemonade type texture, releasing pithy citrus flavours of apricot curd and lime. This thirst quenching Riesling has a delicious mouthfeel and nicely coats the mouth without being cloying.

A prolonged Indian summer with cool nights, typical of Marlborough, led to expressive wines with great natural acidity. The season produced pristine fruit with beautifully ripe flavours. Sourced from our Brookby Hill Vineyard, the fruit was hand harvested and gently pressed. The cool fermentation was stopped when the sweetness and acidity were in perfect balance. The wine then rested on yeast lees for three months to gain texture and palate weight. The acidity, texture and minerality of this wine interplay harmoniously.
