  • Plum & red cherry
  • Chocolate notes
  • Subtle pepper

"Pristine and perfumed, the bouquet shows raspberry, dark cherry, violet, clove and almond notes. It's juicy and vibrant on the palate, offering bright fruit intensity and smooth texture, making it tasty and immediately appealing. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2020

A dark red with purple hues in the glass, this Shiraz Cabernet is lively with aromas of raspberry, plum and red cherries. Blackcurrant and chocolate sit on the palate with subtle pepper and oak flavours rounding out to a soft yet earthy finish.

Angove Family Winemakers is one of Australia’s leading Organic winemakers. Sourced from the winemakers own organically certified Nanya vineyard and premium certified Organic growers in the McLaren Vale region.

Vintage 2019 was back to a a more typical ripening pattern due to a mild lead in to spring and then moderate temperatures through out the growing season with minimal heat spikes. Many varieties were ready to harvest at the same time however, putting pressure on our vineyard teams. These conditons were welcome but highlighted the importance of well managed viticultural and irrigation practices. With exeptional care we were able to ride the wave of grapes coming at us and deliver first quality fruit to the winery.

The grapes for this wine were harvested at night to make sure that they were as cool as possible. Crushed to ‘sweeparm’ fermenters the grapes were then allowed to cold macerate for 2 days prior to inoculation and fermentation. Pressed off skins when optimum flavour and colour levels were achieved, the second malolactic fermentation occured under strict temperature control to ensure flavour and colour were retained. Stored in seasoned oak barrels until assemblage the wine has then had minimal handling prior to filtration for bottling at our certified Organic winery.

Food Pairing: Will go well with red meat, cheeses or a vegan ravioli.
