"Delightfully fruited and immediately appealing, the bouquet shows black/blueberry, subtle spice, cocoa and toasted nut characters. It's wonderfully weighted and flavoursome on the palate, delivering fleshy mouthfeel and silky tannins, leading to a lengthy soothing finish. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2020
The Barossa Valley makes up the majority of the fruit source with typical plum, red licorice, chocolate and mocha characters whilst the addition of the spicier, elegant fruit of the cooler Eden Valley has added lift, interest and freshness. This is a contemporary Barossa Shiraz having spent maturation time in older oak adding subtle vanilla and earthy nuance. There’s softness on the finish while maintaining freshness and vibrancy.
Barossa Winemakers were happy with at the end of vintage citing a high-quality vintage and good yields. Growing season started off well with light rainfall. October and November saw dryer conditions with above average warmer ripening days seeing vine canopies prosper. Dry and warm at the start of the year with just enough rain to retain moisture ensured good even conditions followed by an auspicious Indian Summer with just the right balance of sunshine and rain.
Litte Giant Shiraz is crafted from fruit sourced from select premium vineyards of both the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. Picked in the cool of the morning to retain freshness, the fruit is de-stemming and fermented in stainless steel tank. The wine then spent nine months in used large format French and American oak barrels to build structure whilst softening the palate and develop flflavour complexity without overt extraction of oak character.
The southern hairy-nose wombat is smaller than other wombats but is stocky, robust and the proud state emblem of South Australia. Like the might of the little wombat, Little Giant is crafted from premium regional South Australian fruit from established vineyards that deliver character and interest well above their size and weight. Hand-crafted and made with minimal additions and perservatives, these are wines made of the vineyard. The grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, minimally handled in the winery and fruit vibrancy is not hidden by non-essential artifact. Seeking first and foremost fruit expression, drinkability and to be a great accompaniment to food. Don't let the size fool you, these are wines you'll want to drink.
Food Pairing: Pair with a classic roast beef and horseradish.

This is just a lovely wine. Full bodied, easy on the palate and unfortunately very drinkable therefore a bottle doesn't last very long.
