A lifted and expressive nose of red berries, blackcurrants with distinct hints of earthy tobacco. The palate is fruit-driven and vibrant with a juicy core of supple berried fruits, plums and cassis building to a ripe and mouth-filling back palate. The wine displays varietal leafy notes and provides an authentic Cabernet with bright acidity and a long finish. While drinking well now it will improve with up to five years cellaring.
After a rather low yielding 2018 the Limestone Coast was back on form after a relatively trouble-free vintage. A dry winter was followed by a cool spring and then a fiercely hot summer in most of South Australia. Limestone Coast faired better than other regions with a crop that exceeded that of the previous year and the quality was top notch.
The Elephant in the Room wines are proudly large in scale and expansive in flavour. Ignoring fashion and braving the scorn "wine thought police" Elephant in the Room was created to give consumers exactly what they want – full bodied and mouth-filling wines that deliver maximum pleasure. Each wine is sourced from slow-ripening cool climate vineyards in the Limestone Coast of South Australia and partially matured in French Oak before final blending and botlling by Corey Ryan.
