AWARDED 94/100 POINTS & 5 STARS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2018

AWARDED 92/100 POINTS: Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front

"Powerfully graceful, this delicious shiraz shows blackberry, blueberry compote, vanilla, roasted hazelnut and pepper spice notes on the nose, leading to a richly fruited palate that displays excellent depth and concentration, wonderfully framed by polished tannins. Gratifying and terrific drinking. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2018

"Barossa Shiraz. The brand is Little Giant, the website address is Little Giants. I deal in the small things. This is a new brand, by the looks, by Fourth Wave Wine. It comes in a short, fat, stump of a bottle. It has a wombat on the label aka a short, fat, stump of an animal. Conversation starter. Interesting. And we’re away. Barossa Shiraz. Hard to go wrong, and you certainly won’t here. This is an amazingly good buying/drinking option. So dark, so supple, so polished. Boom, as the wannabe cool kids say. Violet, clove, plum and sweet spice. The bounce of boysenberry. It’s not overly dark in colour terms but it tastes like ink, if that makes sense. It feels good in the mouth but it also feels ready to explode" Campbell Mattinson, Wine Front

The Barossa Valley component shows typical plum, red liquorice, chocolcate and mocha characters whilst the addition of the spicier, darker fruit of the cooler Eden Valley has added lift, interest and freshness. This is a contemporary Barossa Shiraz having spent maturation time in older oak adding subtle vanilla and match stick nuance but also softens it whilst maintaining freshness and vibrancy.

A rich and inviting nose, all opulent ripe berries although tempered by sweet spice and earthy savouriness. The palate continues the theme with a supple core of dark berry and blood plum fruits, with oak very much in the background, before velvety tannins and bright acidity shape the finish. A beautifully lush expression of Heathcote Shiraz that is a great by the glass option of for short / medium term cellaring.

1 x Speak No Evil Organic Shiraz 2018 (Australia)

AWARDED 92/100 POINTS & 4.5 STARS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2019

"The wine offers lovely fruit purity and refinement; the elegantly lifted bouquet shows Black Doris plum, dark cherry, violet and subtle spice aromas, followed by a juicy palate that is smooth and soothing. It is youthfully charming and approachable with pristine fruit flavours. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2019

This wine has a myriad of lifted characters led by blue and red berry fruit aromas with vanilla, fresh ground spices and ripe plums. Soft and seductive tannins help shape the wine yet the weight of fruit ensures it remains cuddly and generous. Subtle mineral and spice, milk chocolate nuance and a fine, integrated acidity drive a long enjoyable finish. The wine is looking great now but will also age gracefully with very careful cellaring for up to 10 years.
